Q. What things are on my mind about exiting lockdown ...?
Plans are being made to help us emerge from lockdown - but after almost 12 months of different ways of working, what are the things that concern us about perhaps no longer working remotely?
As we start to prepare for people returning to shared workspaces and offices - it's important to recognise your anxieties and concerns, and share them as a team.
This not only helps your manager be more aware and address issues - but helps the entire group feel like they're not the only person worrying about it.
How to find your answer:
1. Consider a number of themes that might be of concern to you:
+ Further change to routine
+ The Commute
+ Physical Distancing
+ Focus and motivation
+ Energy levels
+ Caring for others
+ Responsibility at home
+ Preferences of working remotely
2. Think about each theme and see if any specific things jump out at you. Reflect back on what changes you’ve made on how you work and where you work.
3. There may be other concerns too, feel free to share what you can, and encourage conversation once you’ve shared as a group to see if there are things you hadn’t thought about.
4. Work together as a group after you've shared your concerns to see how you can collectively address them, and which are causing the most worry for people, and which perhaps might just be anxiety over change, but can be easily resolved.
Every week, we share a new question you can add to your Manual of Me, a tool designed to help you explore and understand how you work best with others. We’re currently posting questions from the Manual of Me: At Home edition, designed to help us work better together whilst apart, due to COVID.
