Q. My pronouns are ...
A Manual of Me should contain the every day stuff, not just the deeper surprising things.
For example: how to pronounce your name, the times you’re available to work, and your gender pronouns.
Sharing your pronouns helps to dismantle the practise of assuming someone’s gender by their appearance or their name.
We can share our pronouns to help people know how we identify, and help others be more comfortable when doing the same.
Sharing your pronouns as standard practise can help to normalise the action, rather than singling out individuals who choose to.
If you’re working in a team - don’t force someone to share their pronouns - they might not be comfortable or able to do so.
And likewise, you don’t have to share yours if you’re not ready to - as with every entry in the Manual of Me, it’s all about what you are happy choosing to share with others, and what you feel is important for others to know about you.
